Boys & Girls Clubs Invite Communities to Celebrate A Day for Kids

Boys Girls ClubLEESBURG, FL – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake and Sumter Counties, in conjunction with Lake-Sumter Community College Athletics and Student Life, will be holding A Day for Kids on October 2nd.  Day for Kids is a national initiative to promote the importance of spending meaningful time with young people, and seeks to reinforce the importance of families and remind youth just how important they are.

The event will be held at the Lake-Sumter Community College gym and outside area from 10 am to 1 pm.  Attendees will be able to participate in games and competitions run by L-SCC Athletics volunteers. The event will also include information tables hosted by local child service groups promoting educational and health-related programs allowing kids and their parents to connect with organizations that can support and help them as they spend time together. The event is free and open to the public.

“I am excited about this event – the Club is always looking for ways to help kids spent quality time with their families,” said Robb Elmatti, NE Lake Unit Director.  “We are also celebrating a successful partnership with the College, which is allowing us to provide a central location for this fun day and make it a bigger and better event than we’ve held in the past.”

For more information, please visit the Day for Kids website at  www.dayforkids.com.
